School, Community Activities, and Leadership

The choices I have made and my involvement in many different activities has helped me further my steps toward my career goals. FBLA and SkillsUSA  have been my biggest influences. Serving as chapter officer for four years and a district officer for two  improved my leadership skills, expanded my communication skills, and taught me to work as a part of a team for the better of the whole. These are vital skills needed in any professional setting especially my chosen career as a registered nurse where I will be working with patients and their families, doctors, other nurses, and various other people.

My activities can be seen in more detail on my resśme on the resśme page of this portfolio.

I chose to further my education during high school by taking health occupation classes through the Grand River Technical School. Both first and second year classes were a must with my future career choice. I will earn my CNA in March 2015 and I will have gained valuable experience through my clinical hours. Due to my  volunteer and clinical hours plus job shadowing, I have been able to get a better understanding of the nursing field. Through this class and the skills I have learned in it, I am better equipped to be a more valuable employee at my current and future jobs.

My skills are detailed on the skills page of this portfolio and my resume. My volunteer experiences are detailed on my resśme on the resśme page of this portfolio.
