Hide-Away-Lake property Owners:
HELLO
My name is Deana Love, I am a property owner and a live in resident, located at the corner of Walnut Dr. and Eagle Creek west of bath house #3; 8505 Walnut Dr. Polo Mo, 64671
The reason for this letter is my interest in running for trustee at the annual meeting in April 2008.
I see no progress to be made in dwelling on the past, after all no one can go back to change anything, but a lot can be done to make sure that the past is not repeated in the future.
"I WILL NOT ARGUE NOR WILL I DEBATE" I am more than willing to talk to anyone, campers, live in residents; assessments paid or NOT paid. I want to get better acquainted with other property owners to better understand their priority concerns and get their input on the best to resolve some of the past and current problems, I am sincerely convinced that together the property owners the trustee's can come together with some respect for each other and talk things out to solve a lot of issues, with some kind of mutual agreement that can change most any situation when all the facts are out in the open in a CALM, QUIET, RATIONAL manner.
FACT;1 This subdivision was established in 1983, it has had its share of growing problems.
FACT:2 It has had some serious consequences to pay.
FACT;3 No single person can change things, and changes can not happen overnight.
FACT;4 It doesn't make sense that people can be friends and the minute they become A trustee they become total enemies with out reason.
FACT:5 There are legal procedures to follow.
FACT:6 Everything takes a lot of physical energy as well as a lot of organized ideas.
FACT:7 Everything takes money and more money/
FACT:8 It is a waste of time to argue or debate such things as who lived here first or who did what or when anything was done.
In the past five years I have seen a lot things take place, there is still a lot that needs to happen, my hope is to have a positive input and more working together to make needed changes.
SOME CHANGES I'VE SEEN IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS:
1. Better bookkeeping.
2. Better recording procedures.
3. Better money management.
4. Better accountability of funds.
5. Removal of abandoned trailers and vehicles.
6. Better equipment to work with.
7. Culverts replaced.
8. Several attempts have been made to get rid of the primrose and cattails in the lakes.
9. More personal property clean up and mowing.
10. More volunteer work done mowing and various miscellaneous assistance.
11. More holding tanks installed, leach lines, better sewage control.
12. Vandalism, theft, drug, and alcohol problems are down.
13. There has been a lot of gravel put on the roads where it was needed, but there is still a problem getting regular maintaining done.
LET'S JOIN TOGETHER AND MOVE FORWARD TO HAVE A UNIFIED ORGANIZATION!!!

PERSONAL NOTE OF MY THOUGHTS
I am aware that I am not a professional genius, and I don't know anyone that is. I am not sure that 100% of Hide-Away-Lakes problems can be solved, but I am convinced that things can be better than they are.
If the property owners will come together with some respect and consideration for each other, the campers, the live in residents, and the trustees alike, with assessments paid or NOT paid; with less demands and more ideas or better solutions to solve the issues that concern all the property owners; together as a group big changes can be made. We need to know the effective steps to legal procedures, income, expenses involved, Actions need to be made to get some organized input.
I will be running for trustee at the annual meeting in April-2008, please feel free to come by, get acquainted and share thoughts in a quiet atmosphere;
I REFUSE TO ARGUE OR DEBATE WITH ANYONE!!!
While I am writing I would like to address and issue that came up last winter concerning the roads, ice, snow, and the ability to come in and out safely:
Hide-Away-Lake covenants reads:
ARTICLE 2----PARAGRAPH #3
The Trustee shall have the right and power to provide for plowing and removal of the snow from the aforesaid streets, road ways, and trail ways.
TO UNDERSTAND THIS IN LAYMAN TERMS ONE MUST READ EACH WORD CAREFULLY TO SEE THAT THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THIS, BUT IT IS NOT MANDATORY ISSUE, AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THEY CHOOSE NOT TO CONCERN THEMSELVES WITH WINTER ROADS!!!!!
I do not think it is right for the summer campers should have to pay for live In residents to have winter road service, nor do I thing that assessment monies should be used for this purpose, " after all we chose to live here knowing we would not have Clean paved streets year round, " with this in mind my husband and I have set up a Winter road service fund (at least until a better solution can be found to cover these Expenses) this fund will be used to stock pile sand in selected areas for anyone that Needs it for roads or drives, it will also be used to pay for a tractor or truck with a Blade to come in with 24 hours notice to clear designated roads. I am asking that EVERYONE that lives here year round or ANYONE that comes in and out in the Winter months (mid-November thru March) to help donate to this fund, I will Promise that the money ill ONLY be used for the winter roads, there will be receipts And records to show any and all expenses, and will be available to see at any time by Anyone upon request. IF ANYONE HAS A BETTER SOLUTION FOR THIS SITUATION I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR IT.
Thank you for your time
